Dr. Magan will be the primary contact person for CRANFIELD and responsible for the work carried-out in WP2 as Deputy Leader and WP3. Dr. Magan is Research Leader of the Applied Mycology Group and the Doctoral Training Centre lead for AgriFood. He is an international authority on mycotoxins in food matrices and their ecophysiology and control especially the development of post-harvest prevention strategies. He has 30 years’ experience in mycotoxins research and has previously been involved in many mycotoxin and biocontrol related RTD EU projects over the last 10-15 years. In addition, he was the Cluster co-ordinator of the FPV ‘Mycotoxin Prevention Cluster’ which consisted of 7 different research projects and a WP leader of the MYCORED project in FP7. Other related EU project participation is detailed below. He has also contributed to European and International mycotoxin research via participation in ILSI Europe Committees, IUPAC Symposia, Gordon Conferences on Mycotoxins and Phycotoxins, World Mycotoxin Forum and is a member of the International Commission for Food Mycology. He was awarded a DSc in 2013 by Cranfield University for his scientific contributions to mycotoxins research. He has published over 250+ Journal publications with more than 150 of these on mycotoxins and has an h-index of 42 (Web of Science).
